Our Mission:

In Him Home Schoolers of the East Mountains is a primarily Christian outreach ministry of experienced home school families. Our desire is to support families in the the education of their children at home through encouragement, prayer, training, field trips, classes, and the sharing of information and ideas. One of our primary concerns is friendship and support between our children and our home school parents.

Updates for the group are as follows:

I NEED YOUR PICTURES:

If you have taken pictures at events, I need them, still looking for more to Dixon, there's the 2nd tour at Great Harvest, Albuquerque Journal, and since so many of you were taking them at Starfire, I need some of those. Send them to me please, I'm working on the pages for this year's book. I think there's also the last RGNC that I couldn't make. If anyone took pictures please send those as well.

News

Girl Scout Troop
The new In Him Homeschoolers Girl Scout troop is forming and email registrations with interest are now being accepted. Please email me at fullhousewithsix@aol.com if you are interested. We need child's name and grade to be able to place them.

Details are: Girls from 5 years of age up can join, we have leaders for Daisy's (K) Brownies (1, 2, 3) and Juniors (4,5,6). We can not at this time take Cadettes which is the upper grades. We will meet twice a month at Mountain Christian Church located on N14, on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, STARTING August 12th. We will meet from 1:00 to 3:00, possibly 3:30. We will have one community project every other month for girl scouts and this project will tie in with the homeschool groups TAG activity. Also, lots of the homeschool activities will tie in with GS and participation badges will be awarded for those that participate in those events. To join, in August you will need to fill out a registration and pay $30.00 for the yearly $50.00 fee. Of that $10.00 will count towards your daughter's registration, and they must be registered to attend events/troop meetings. If you as a mother would like to attend events outside of the troop meetings on Tuesdays, then you too will need to register and pay the $10.00 fee. Then in January the remaining $20.00 of the dues will be due. This will run this way every August.

We will have some rules in place and will use the 1, 2, 3 system for those that can't follow the rules. The rules are basic in that they must be respectful to the leaders and listen to them, follow directions at all times. First offense, we will notify you, second they will be asked to go home and third they will not be allowed to attend. Now, we do not contemplate any problems but need to state this "in case".

No siblings will be allowed to attend the troop meeting's. Mom's there is a play area outside where you can let them play, but watching siblings is up to the parents, unless you are teaching a meeting, (and we do ask that from time to time you take a turn with a meeting), siblings need to be outside and not interfering with the meeting.

Each GS will be assigned snack days and each GS will need to take their turn at providing those to all. More info will be given out on this after the first meeting.

Vests will need to be purchased at the Girl Scout office, located at 4000 Jefferson Plaza NE. Our troop number is 181, as you will need to purchase patches with the troop number on them. When you sign up I can send you a list of what you need to get, and have by August 12th.

I think that is it for now on GS, if you have questions, email me.

3.) Park Days are here, I don't want to be the only one there, so if you are planning on attending, email me by the night before. Otherwise if I don't hear from anyone, I won't be going myself either. This is something I am hoping to try out and will experiment with in hopes of getting the kids in the group together to get to know each other better since we aren't meeting with the classes as we did last year. Park days are set up as May 23rd, June 6th and 20th, July 11th and 25th (since the 4th of July holiday falls on a Friday this year). and August 8th. Watch the events below to find out the different locations that we will be meeting at.
